INFO:
The Royal Palace of Olite, in the Navarre region of Spain provides the stunning backdrop for the first in our series of 8 short films in which writers discuss Shakespeare’s continuing influence on international literature today. Watch Baileys Women’s Prize shortlisted novelist Kamila Shamsie talk and walk with Spanish writer, translator and art critic, Javier Montes on location in the rustic Spanish town and palace. They talk about Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, also set in a castle in the Navarre region of Spain, and try to pinpoint what it is about Shakespeare that means he still matters 400 years on. This project is part of the British Council’s Shakespeare Lives programme, celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. https://literature.britishcouncil.org/project/Walking%20Cities:%20Shakespeare%20Lives
