Yazoo´s abstract electro soul is injected with seductive beats from Blue Pearl´s luscious house classic Naked In The Rain. At the same time, the stoic, minimal instrumentation of Ode To Boy brings a dark and menacing undercurrent to the carnal lure of Durga McBrooms husky vocals. The combination of both songs conjures an element of unease that neither song originally has. The tension is further hightened by the distorded and mangled images from Peter Tscherkassky´s short film Outer Space, which I edited to the music. As always: No overdubs, no programming, no multitracks. Just plain live mixing.
